Tools and Resources, With No Outbound Links

Not tax or legal advice. This page names tasks. It does not name a vendor, rank a product, or link away from the site. There is no advertisement here.
This page describes the on-site checker, the federal e-file rules in the sources we read, and the questions worth asking before paying for help. It does not send you anywhere. A relationship added later is described on the disclosure page before any link exists. Today there is nothing to disclose and nothing to click in this article.
The checker on this site
The deadline checker is on the home page. You choose how the entity is taxed, the year-end, the number of partners or shareholders when that number matters, and, if you want a total, the months late. The page returns a filing date, an extended date, a checklist, and a calendar file.
A calendar-year partnership or S corporation has an expected filing date of 15 March 2027, a Monday, and an expected extended date of 15 September 2027. A calendar-year C corporation is expected on 15 April 2027, with an extension to 15 October 2027. The sentence "6 months for tax years beginning in 2026" is only for a June 30 C corporation. Other year-ends use the general six-month Form 7004 period.
The inputs stay in the browser. The page does not send them, does not set a cookie, and does not save them. The calendar file is created on your device when you ask for it. It is not uploaded. The extended date is labelled expected unless the screen is showing the confirmed calendar-year Form 1120 pair.
IRS e-file, in words only
Form 7004 can be filed electronically. IRS materials describe e-file for that form through the Modernized e-File program. That is the free federal channel these pages describe. This article does not link to it. Look up the Form 7004 instructions on the IRS site yourself, and confirm the page is an official IRS page before you transmit anything. This site is not the IRS and does not file for you.
Two thresholds are easy to mix. The 10-return rule applies to both Form 1065 and Form 1120-S. It is about returns filed during the year, not about the headcount you type. More than 100 partners applies to Form 1065 only. Form 1120-S has no 100-shareholder e-file threshold. The checker mentions the partner threshold only when a Form 1065 headcount is over 100. A headcount of 10 is not a finding that 10 returns were filed.
Formation, a registered agent, and the books
Paid help often means forming an entity, hiring a registered agent, or keeping books. This site does not link to those services or describe prices. Forming an entity does not decide whether it files Form 1065, Form 1120-S, or neither. A registered agent receives process. That role is not Form 7004. Software that holds numbers does not change the 15th-day rule.
Useful questions stay inside the facts on this site. Does the service file the federal return that matches the classification? Does it file Form 7004 by the original due date, while leaving the time to pay tax that is due unchanged? Is a Schedule K-1 furnished no later than the return due date, with the extension question checked in the instructions? Can they state the headcount that multiplies the $260 amount for returns filed in 2027, and keep state reports off that federal date?
What to gather first
Bring the year-end, the classification you believe applies, and a partner or shareholder list if the return is Form 1065 or Form 1120-S. If the return needs more time, Form 7004 has to be in by the original due date. If an S election is part of the story, Form 2553 is generally filed within 2 months and 15 days after the start of the tax year the election is meant to cover, and it may be filed during the preceding tax year. Late-election relief under Rev. Proc. 2013-30 uses 3 years and 75 days, with other conditions this site does not decide.
If you are already late, the indicative amount is $260 per partner or shareholder per month for a Form 1065 or Form 1120-S return filed in 2027, under Rev. Proc. 2025-32. Check the current IRS amount. A fraction of a month counts as a month, and the count stops at 12. Separate figures in that revenue procedure, not part of the monthly product, are the Form 1120-S 60-day minimum (the lesser of $535 or 100 percent of the tax), the $340 general payee-statement amount cited for a K-1, and an intentional-disregard amount that is the greater of $690 or the percentage in the revenue procedure. Whether the K-1 date moves with Form 7004 is still not verified.
Why the vendor list is empty
There is no rating and no ranking on this page. A ranking would be an advertisement even without a link, and this site has no basis for one. Use the checker for the federal arithmetic, read the IRS instructions for the year you are filing, and judge any commercial service yourself. A re-check of the instructions and of Rev. Proc. 2025-32 is planned for 1 January 2027.
